Just in time for Halloween, you can download Zombie Prom from iTunes for *FREE*!

Zombie Prom, written and directed by Vince Marcello with support from horror legend Wes Craven and art direction from horror comic book artist Tom Mandrake, is an award-winning short film featuring production artwork by yours truly and other names familiar to fans of Star Wars like Jan Duursema (Star Wars Republic and Star Wars Legacy for Dark Horse Comics) and Justin Chung (Star Wars Artist sketch cards for Topps) and including post production work and services from the technical wizards at ILM and Skywalker Sound.

The film is a comedy/horror/musical that's a cross between Little Shop of Horrors and Grease that pays homage to American's Atomic Age (duck and cover, everyone!) and Golden Age comic books.

Please help spread the news!

For a limited time only, you can download this film for free at iTunes right here!

If you don't have the free iTunes player to view this, you can get it here.

And finally, for more information about this film visit the official site.

Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

This weekend, on Saturday August 26th, I'll be appearing with my Star Wars art along with sketch card artist Justin Chung for Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination at COSI in Columbus, Ohio. Stop on by and say hi this weekend and check out this amazing, interactive exhibit one last time before it leaves Columbus on September 4th.

Also appearing at the exhibit this Saturday will be three very special guests - Darth Vader, Chewbacca and Wicket the Ewok! These Star Wars characters are hitting the road in celebration of the September 12th DVD release of the Star Wars Trilogy and the LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy game from LucasArts. You can read more about thier tour right here.

Its their first-ever trip across the U.S., and its progress will be chronicled on Star Wars.com, where visitors can also view photos from the tour and submit their own. The photographer behind the best photo, as judged by Star Wars fans online, could win a trip for four to Celebration IV, the ultimate Star Wars event, which will be held in May 2007 in Los Angeles.

Vader, Chewie and Wicket will begin their Columbus appearance with a visit at Columbus Childrens Hospital and then they'll be at the COSI Star Wars exhibit from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. From there they'll be heading over to the Easton Town Center from 2:30 p.m. 3:15 p.m.

I hope to see some of you at COSI this weekend!

You can find me at table FF-01 in Artist Alley with Star Wars sketch card artist and World Famous Comics.com creator Justin Chung. We'll be sketching, signing and selling plenty of Star Wars art so stop by and say "hi" if you can.

On Thursday, July 20th at 7:30 PM Zombie Prom will be showing at Comic-Con as part of the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. I provided original artwork that appears throughout the film and along with Star Wars artists Justin, Jan Duursema, Brian Miller and ZP Art Director Tom Mandrake we created a "comic book in the movie"-- an homage to the EC horror and romance comics of the '50s. We'll all be attending along with the film's director, Vince Marcello, and we would love to see you there! And a panel with Tom and Vince is also being planned after the screening too.

Zombie Prom won the Indie Soul Best Picture Award in the Short Film category at the Boston International Film Festival on June 15th. That's ZP's second win following up the Best Short Film Award at the Palm Beach International Film Festival earlier this April.

Besides Justin and Jan, other Star Wars creators appearing for Comic-Con include my friends Abel Peña, Dan Wallace, John Jackson Miller and Chris Trevas. Also, I'll be premiering my new JoeCorroney.com Sketchbook Volume II at Comic-Con. This new, square bound, 8 1/2" x 11" edition features color front and back covers with over 40 interior pages of original sketches and pen and ink artwork. My good pal, Dustin Roberts (along with his campaign partner, R2-D2), is currently in the running for President of the Official Star Wars Fan Club as part of the Hyperspace membership recruitment contest. Dustin not only brings fans (like myself) their daily Star Wars news as part of the Rebelscum.com and TheForce.Net team but is also a fellow member of the OSWCC, one of the best Star Wars fan clubs and collecting communities operating today!

Here's more from the man himself -

Hello Star Wars fans!

First off let me say thank you so very much for all your support! We've come a long way in the past month but with only two weeks left there's still work to be done. As of this morning we're sitting comfortably in 2nd place. I'd like to see if we can collectively make a push to come out on top!

If you have access to a website that posts daily updates, message boards or forums, email distribution lists, weekly podcasts etc etc, could you please help me rally your readership and or organization membership to sign up or renew, and help spread the word?!

The leaderboard is updated daily (most week nights) here- http://www.starwars.com/hyperspace/about/news/prez2006.html

Going into this weekend I'd love for you guys & gals to help me fire everyone up! So that come Monday we will see a big spike in votes for the Roberts & R2 camp!

My campaign HQ is located here: http://www.rebelscum.com/dlr06.asp

All the info they'll need is located there! I truly appreciate everyone's combined effort on this contest!

Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll also be signing for this series (and my Star Wars artwork too) on May 6th for Free Comic Book Day at Midgard Comics in Westerville, Ohio. So if you're in the neighborhood stop on by. My buddy Darryl Banks, artist for DC's Green Lantern, will be there signing as well.

Later that month, May 19th-21st, I'll be appearing at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan with Star Wars sketch card artist and Jedi Knight extraordinaire Justin of WorldFamousComics.com. Other Star Wars guests at the con will include Dave Dorman and General Grievous himself, Matthew Wood. Fellow Star Wars illustrator and good friend Chris Trevas might be stopping by too.

Thanks for the support everyone and I hope to see you at some of these events coming up!

The official website for Zombie Prom is now up!

Zombie Prom is a 1950s horror comic book brought to life as a musical comedy - a rollicking, romp through America's "Atomic Age" and the Golden Age of horror comic books. I've already seen a screening of the movie and it's really funny, it's Grease meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show done as an old EC comic book.

After you watch the movie trailer be sure to check out the comic art gallery featuring artwork by yours truly along with fellow Star Wars artists Jan Duursema and Justin from World FamousComics.com. We provided original comic book artwork for the film which act as cut scenes for the live action. If you've seen George Romero's and Stephen King's Creepshow then you get the idea.

Zombie Prom will be playing Big Shorts 2 at the Hollywood Pacific Theater in Hollywood Feb. 9th and at the Beverly Hills Shorts Festival in Beverly Hills, CA on Feb. 24 and 25. If you're in town or nearby head on over or tell your friends. If the film is a success it might open a few more doors for us and everyone involved.

Thanks for the support!
