Star Wars: Empire #25 - Thumbnails, Layouts, Finished Pencil Art and Final Colors

Star Wars: Empire #25 Cover Here's a look at my process of creating sequential art for Star Wars: Empire #25 (written by Ron Marz) from my thumbnail drawings, layouts and pencil art to Michael Atiyeh's final colors.

First, after reading Ron's script, I develop my thumbnail sketches, then I build up towards full size layouts (or larger rough sketches), and finally, produce the finished pencils. After I ship the pages to Dark Horse Comics for approval they are sent to Michael who works his magic painting over my pencils with digital color. Have a look below.

You can view more of my pencil art from Star Wars: Empire #25 in my Star Wars Comic Books gallery. This issue is in comic book stores *right now* so if you like what you've seen, please pick up one up today or purchase an autographed copy from my Stuff to Buy page.

I hope you enjoyed this look behind the scenes of creating art for this comic book and see you next week for a new Comics 101 feature!
